Restorative Yoga involves a series of poses such as gentle backbends, forward folds, inversions and twists, supported by props that allow you to relax completely. Resting into each pose for 5-15 minutes or more, you experience a deep release from physical tension. This in turn has a powerful calming effect on the mind.
Yoga Nidra or yogic sleep is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, where – guided by a series of verbal cues – the body completely relaxes. It is a potent meditative resource for healing and insight, an opportunity to experience the deep freedom of being at home with ourselves.
Held in Chris’s cosy home studio in Streatham Hill, all props with be provided – so all you need to do is turn up wearing something comfortable and warm.
Chris is a certified Restorative Yoga teacher trained by Judith Lasater and studied Yoga Nidra with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli and Nirlipta Tuli. She is also a teacher of yoga in prisons and runs relaxing weekend retreats throughout the UK.
